Super Super Bowl Snacks

Super Bowl Sunday has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger over the years. Having the right food on hand for your Super Bowl Party has also gotten to be bigger and bigger business for grocery stores. Of course, those ready-made snacks tend to be loaded with super-sized doses of sodium, lots of bad fats, and often way more sugar than a body needs.

Consider making some of your own Super Bowl snacks. Not all of the snacks are healthy, per se, but most of them are much better than their store-bought counterparts. And do I need to mention that when you make things homemade, they almost always taste a thousand times better.

So here’s a list of fun snacks that we recommend. I’ve listed a couple of types of cookies, but if you want LOTS of cookies to choose from, choose the category “cookies” on the sidebar. That should give you a list of all the cookies we feature. Check out more appetizers by pulling down the category bar to “appetizers.”

There may be some overlap between the individual recipes  and a couple of the lists that I’m posting.

One of our earliest lists of no-cook appetizers is a start.

Laura added some more quick and easy appetizers on this list.

Some of our personal favorites include:

Sweet munchies:

Microwave Caramel Corn

Chex Mix Muddy Buddies

The World’s Best Brownies

Chocolate Chip Cookies–also the world’s best!

Chocolate Chip Bars

Savory Munchies:

Regular Chex Mix

Bacon-wrapped water chestnuts

Stuffed Portobella mushrooms

Roasted Vegetable Bruschetta

Hummus Phyllo Dough Cups

Hot Crab Dip

Cold Crab Dip

Crab Puffs

Festive Cheese Ball

Homemade Onion Rings

Substantial munchies:

Basic Deviled Eggs

Pigs in the Blankets

Smoked salmon and cream cheese pizza

Gourmet pizzas

Golden Pepper Soup

Bacon, egg, and cheese Souffles

Chicken Fingers

Please let us know if any of these links don’t work correctly and we’ll get them fixed immediately.

A little preparation today could produce the best Super Bowl party you’ve ever had tomorrow! Our dirty secret is that we really don’t give a hoot who wins and who loses as long as the food is fabulous!
