For some this Super Bowl weekend is all about the big game. For others (some of MY family members who shall remain nameless, cough cough) it’s all about the brilliantly creative commercials DURING the big game. For us Foodies, it’s all about the great Super Bowl party food! Bring on the recipes, baby!
There’s nothing wrong with buying a bag of chips and some beverages and calling that your party food, but believe me, there’s a lot more out there!

It seems that one essential Super Bowl game day food is wings. Here are my two favorite wing recipes:
I’m always ready for appetizers and these are some of my favorites:
- Stuffed Portobella mushrooms
- Bacon-wrapped water chestnuts
- Cold Crab Dip
- Hot Crab Dip
- Bruschetta
- Hummus Phyllo Dough Cups
- Pesto (to use on any leftover baguette rounds after you’ve finished the bruschetta)
- Hummus (great on baguettes, crackers, pita bread, or chips)
- Breaded Catfish Nuggets
- Chicken Fingers
- Homemade Onion Rings
- Smoked salmon and cream cheese pizza
- Gourmet pizzas
- Pigs in the Blankets
- ANY homemade pizza
Check out the easy, fun Super Bowl Cake from my friend Sarah at Real Life Blog (Sarah is one of the most creative, resourceful people I know and if you haven’t checked her Real Life blog or her High Country Mom Squad site, you’re missing out!)
Here are still more ideas that we posted about last year: Super Super Bowl Food. This is just a start and I’ll be back with more before kickoff time on Sunday.
Remember, homemade almost always tastes better!

Thanks so much for mentioning me, Barb! I loved hanging with you today, and if you’re making any of that food, I want to come to YOUR super bowl party!
I loved hanging with you too! I always feel like there’s more I want to talk about. And I’m still trying to scheme how to get you and Judd over for chile verde….
Great roundup of snack food. Yum!
All of the appetizers look great…I am particularly interested in the onion ring recipe…I was unable to locate it as when I clicked on it, there was a different recipe there. Can I locate it elsewhere?
I was able to find it by searching under the appetizer category…the onion rings look amazing.
