Our first giveaway: Eggland’s Best Eggs

Yes, this is a fairly small giveaway compared to some of the amazing giveaways you see out in the wide world of bloggery. It’s our FIRST giveaway ever and we’re thankful to be starting!

Our good friends, Scott and Mary Lou Braswell of Braswell Foods gave me these great vouchers for a dozen Eggland’s Best eggs. I tried Eggland’s Best myself and was very impressed. I’ve always let my natural thrifty nature rule my egg purchases. After all, an egg is an egg is an egg, right? Actually…not. Eggland’s Best eggs really are a lot better than the cheapest dozen I can buy at Sams Club or my local WalMart.

So today, we’re giving away three vouchers that are each good for a dozen Large or Extra Large Eggland’s Best eggs (approx. value is $10 for each winner). We’re picking two winners who will each win three vouchers, so everyone has even better odds.

  1. My current favorite egg recipe is Quick Italian Spinach pie, which is a crustless quiche. I’d love to win some eggs. Thanks for the giveaway!

  2. Ingredients
    • 12 slices Canadian bacon
    • 1 package (8 ounces) sliced Swiss cheese
    • 12 eggs
    • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
    • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
    • 2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley
    • 6 English muffins, split and toasted
    Directions
    • Place Canadian bacon in the bottom of a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish; top with Swiss cheese. Break eggs over cheese. Pour cream over eggs.
    • Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, paprika and pepper. Bake 4-8 minutes longer or until eggs are nearly set. Sprinkle with parsley and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
    • Cut between each egg and top each muffin half with an egg, and slice of bacon and cheese. Yield: 6 servings.

  3. This might not be my favorite egg recipe, but it’s the one I use the most – and love it.
    Olive oil heated in pan (just a little)
    1 clove of garlic thru garlic press
    Add diced tomatoes (preferrably home grown)
    Whisk 1 egg with Fage plain Greek yogurt
    You might need to add a little water if it’s too thick, but this tastes WAY better than just using milk!
    Near the end add baby spinach. (Again, preferrably home grown).
    Remove from pan and top with fresh ground sea salt and pepper.
    Basically you’re only eating one egg, along with some veggeis, garlic for antioxidant, and the nutrients from the Greek yogurt, but it’s SO filling and delicious!
    Yum!

  4. We don’t really have a “BEST EGG” dish but what I can tell you is that my husband has 2 eggs most every morning for breakfast. Gotta love eggs!

  5. My Favorite egg recipe- is a Simple overnight French toast-I make the Brioche Bread first then I just use about 9 egg yolks for the french toast custard- I then use the egg whites to bake an angel food cake.

  6. I guess my favorite recipe with eggs would be French Toast, but it is closely followed by Flan.

  7. I like Tortilla Espanola. 6 eggs, 4 potatoes, and 2 onions. Slice, boil, and drain potatoes. Slice onions and saute in cast iron with olive oil until translucent. Save about a tbsp of oil in cast iron. Combine potatoes, eggs, and onions with salt and pepper in bowl. Put in cast iron skillet on stovetop over medium for 10 minutes. Put in 400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. Invert on plate and serve. Delicious!

  8. I love scrambled eggs. I make them with cream cheese, ham, mozzarella and maybe onions or mushrooms or peppers, if I have them. They are soft set and creamy and YUMMY!!!

  9. We like them every which way but scrambled with cheese is on top of the list. A bacon, spinach and onion quiche is always a treat. Love me some eggs!:)
